rebuchet MS is that rarest of beasts: a font created at the behest of Microsoft, and available to most computer users, that isn’t blindingly ugly. Trebuchet, designed by Vincent Connare in 1996, is a humanist sans serif that was purportedly built for “easy screen readability.” That may have been Vincent’s intent, but, in this typographer’s humble opinion, Trebuchet is resplendent at large sizes and a disaster when sized smaller than 21 pt.
